| International Journal of Qualitative Studies on Health and Well-being (QHW) acknowledges the international and interdisciplinary nature of health-related issues. It intends to provide a meeting-point for studies using rigorous qualitative methodology of significance for issues related to human health and well-being. The aim of QHW is to support and shape the emerging field of qualitative studies and to encourage the development of tools for a better understanding of all aspects of human health and well-being. The journal emphasizes empirical research and theory in basic and applied health care, especially with an international focus, but also welcomes national and even local contributions. Phenomenological, ethnographic, and grounded theory studies are welcome. At least one out of the six to eight articles in each issue will be reserved for philosophical issues related to qualitative research in the health area. As from 2010, QHW has transitioned to the Open Access publishing model, whereby all articles/issues are freely available online. The journal will no longer be printed except for the occasional special issues and supplements. Publishing in QHW is free in 2010 due to generous grants from Halmstad University, Sweden. | WHY PUBLISH WITH QHW?
